Why was the DP Exam developed?

We had multiple requests at the TXPO 2003 of the AABB national meeting to create a Donor Phlebotomy exam that was constructed

• Over the right content
• At the right level
• Using AABB standards

We listened. We sent out hundreds of role delineation surveys to practitioners, educators, and directors to define the content and create the exam. After two years of careful development, the exam is ready.

Who are we?

NCCT is an independent certifying agency that administers national certification examinations with an emphasis on entry level health care fields. That is our specialty. Our general Phlebotomy Technician examination was among the first to be approved for California certification testing by the Laboratory Field Services division of the California Department of Health Services. Other LFS approved certifiers for California include the ASCP Board of Registry (BOR) and the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA). We are also a P.A.C.E.® approved provider of continuing education.
