| P.A.C.E.® Information |
The Professional Acknowledgement for Continuing Education (P.A.C.E.®) program is the quality
assurance mechanism for educational programs offered to clinical laboratory professionals by the
American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS). P.A.C.E.® approved courses must be
applicable to the practice of clinical laboratory science. For this reason, not all NCCT CE
courses are P.A.C.E.® approved.
NCCT is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by
the ASCLS P.A.C.E.® program. Through P.A.C.E.®, NCCT is a California approved continuing education
provider, Agency #0001. NCCT offers numerous P.A.C.E.® approved continuing education courses.
If you are a phlebotomist in California, the NCCT P.A.C.E.® courses can count toward meeting your
state certification (license) requirements. Therefore, you will want to select from these courses
as part of your continuing education selections. However, it is not necessary to take only P.A.C.E.®
approved courses to maintain your NCCT certification.
If you are a phlebotomist in a state other than California that requires continuing education to
maintain your state certification/license, P.A.C.E.® accredited courses may be acceptable in your state.
Contact your state license department for specific information. The P.A.C.E.® accredited courses are
not just for those holding a phlebotomy certification. These courses can be completed by anyone.
To meet P.A.C.E.® requirements, NCCT requests course evaluations from individuals who complete
P.A.C.E.® approved courses. An evaluation form specific for the course (with preprinted course
title and number) follows the test questions on a P.A.C.E.® approved course. When you take a
P.A.C.E.® course, please complete the specific evaluation form and return it with your completed
answer sheet. A blank evaluation form is located in the Documents section of the Renewal/CE drop
down menu. If you use this form, please write in the course title and course number.
NOTE: Maintaining your active national certification with NCCT is not the same as
maintaining a current state certification (license), if that is required in your state.
